Hello beautiful! Welcome to my first post! I'm so excited to start this blog, and it feels so surreal that I'm actually writing my first post right now! I wanted my first post to be a bit of an introduction to why I started this blog, and what this blog can do for you.

But first... Who am I?

My name is Helina, and I'm a teenage girl. I love reading in my room, journaling and making collages, and baking for my friends. Some of my passions are advocating for women's rights and working with kids. Someday, I want to be a pediatrician. I love caring for children, but another piece of my brain has so much fun with writing and wants to become an author! That's part of what inspired me to start a blog!

I'm a bit of an introvert, so sometimes I feel like I can't express my thoughts and feelings by talking to someone. Writing my thoughts comes naturally to me, and I want to be true to myself in this blog.

What is this blog about?

This blog is for all of the teenage girls out there, myself included. There are so many opinions, social media posts, and comments that people will make about girls our age. There's always something wrong with the way we talk, the way we dress, or the way we feel. It can be so difficult to grow up with everyone telling you that you're never doing enough or that you're always doing too much.

My goal is to combat that. For every discouraging thing that you hear, I hope that you will want to come back to my blog and be encouraged for a change.

What will my posts look like?

A lot of my posts will be about experiences that I have as a teenage girl. For example, I have curly/coily hair, and I was insecure about it for a while. Natural hairstyles helped me love my hair and start experimenting with it. I understand that having curly hair isn't relatable for everyone, but I think that at least some of my posts will connect to you and your own life.

I'll also have some posts that can reach a wider audience, like a post about self-confidence or relationships. Those posts will be for a general audience of teenage girls, because a lot of teenage girls can relate to these issues.

What can this blog do for you?

I'm not here to offer you physical or mental health advice; you can check my resources page, if that's what you're looking for. I'm not a professional, so I can only tell you what has worked for me, and what I think might be helpful. It's completely up to you if you want to try it out!

This blog doesn't even have to be a place for tips and advice; we can just share opinions, experiences, and even just rant. Feel free to comment on any of my posts with questions or comments that you want to share!

If you ever feel like you need a hand, girl, let me help!
